To Future Me:
Never become to old to laugh and scream when going down a water slide.
Never stop smiling in wonder at a fireworks show.
Never become someone who would pass up a midnight run to find the perfect dessert to share with a good friend.
Never become someone who is unimpressed with life!
Future Me, there may be a lot of things that Present Me needs to change, but the ability to enjoy the little things isn't one of them!
So in 2011, Future Me, be less angry and cynical; instead, be strong, be courageous, and be there for those that you love. And remember to laugh, smile and love with all you have!

Happy New Year!
This will be my last post here at Bravenet. I am very sad to leave this little blog, but it is time to move on. Visit my new blog here: http://blog.geekyshopaholic.com/
I am still in the process of moving my posts over there, but everything is up and running. Hope you all will visit!
1. Smile and say thank you!
Simple, yet very effective!
2. Offer to help, but don't pester.
There is nothing worse than trying to shop, and being constantly pestered by store employees.
3. When a customer comes up, the conversation you were having with another employee should stop.
The customer is the priority. It's that simple.
4. Kill them with kindness.
If you are nice to someone who is being rude to you, what do you have to lose? Either the customer's mood improves or you just annoy him. It's a win-win for you!
5. Don't act aggravated when a customer asks for your help, be glad to help them.
After all, that's why you are there - to take care of your customer!
6. Don't make comments on how much a customer is spending.
It's sad that I even had to put this on here, but I have actually had this happen to me. It is just plain rude!
7. If you are a cashier, don't lean on the counters.
This just really makes you look lazy.
8. When you say you will get back with a customer actually get back with them.
If you had to do a little research to take care of a customer's questions or problem, be sure to get back with them. This little bit of extra effort will really be appreciated by your customer and they will be more likely to return to your store.

My sister, Paige and I had our annual Christmas get together with our friends Ashley, Brooke and Christin. Every year we go out to eat and exchange gifts. It was so much fun!
We have all been friends for about 15 years now, but we don't get to see each other as much as we did when we were younger. Now we all have jobs, commitments, boyfriends, (well, I don't
), but we still try to get together for the special events.
Christin drew my name for the gifts and she got me the Twilight board game and an Eclipse calender! I love it! Of course, Christin is the only one I'll be able to play the game with, but that's okay! lol
I've been spending a lot of time playing with Wordpress. I was actually able to make my own theme thanks to this tutorial. You can view my new blog here. There are still a few kinks, but I am working on them. I hope to have everything ready to open officially for the New Year. I am also working on moving all my posts over there. Right now I am doing this manually, does anyone know an easier way?
Also, I am planning a post about "How to be good to your customer" to complement my last post on "How to be a good customer," should have it up Monday.
See you tomorrow for Sunday Stealing!
With Christmas fast approaching, I thought it would be a good time to give some tips on being a good customer. I have worked in retail for over 10 years, so I think I have a good idea about what makes a good customer. And considering that I am a shopaholic, I also know what I expect from my fellow shoppers.
Here are my tips on how to be a good customer.
1. Don't block the aisle with your family reunion.
If you have just bumped in to that long, lost cousin and want to talk, please pull your buggies to the side. Don't block the aisle; other customers and workers will need to get through.
2. Don't blame the cashier.
If something rings up the wrong price, don't accuse the cashier of trying to overcharge you. The cashier has little control over what a product rings up, all they do is scan it. Instead kindly let the cashier know so that they can report the incorrect pricing.
3. Don't run out in front of a worker who is pulling a heavy cart or pallet.
It is very hard to stop, when you are pulling something heavy. Please remember this when you see someone pulling a big load. There is no need to to cause them or yourself to get hurt.
4. Don't hold up traffic waiting for someone to load their car, so that you can get their parking spot.
This my biggest pet peeve. Believe me, it won't hurt you to walk a little bit!
5. Realize that the people that work in retail are customers too.
They have to shop and put up with the same long lines and prices that you do.
6. If you feel the need to yell or curse, find management.
The cashiers and other workers don't get paid enough for that.
7. Put it back where you got it or give to the cashier.
8. Understand that there are policies that have to be followed.
Those that work in retail are just doing their jobs and every job has rules. What would happen to you at your job if you didn't follow your employer's polices?
9. If they say you can't return it, you can't.
After a certain amount of time, the product becomes the manufacturers concern not the retailers.
10. Be Kind to Those who work in retail.
If it was your Mom or Dad or your son or daughter, how would you want them to be treated? You would be surprised at how big a difference just one friendly customer can make in a retail workers day.
